BBC One had a Drama called “Our Zoo”, which tells the story of the founding of Chester Zoo by the Mottershead family in the 1930s. Chester Zoo has all the novelty you need to entertain your guests. Can you imagine telling people that you got married at the Zoo.

As part of your wedding day package your guests can get a pass to walk around the zoo after the ceremony. How amazing is that! The Wedding Ceremony and Reception can take place in The Oakfield or The Square. The Square is an extension of the existing 1931 Grade II listed stable block. The Oakfield is a beautiful country manor and has also been at the Zoo since it opened. It is on the National Heritage list as a Grade II listed building.

Why I am the best photographer for a Chester Zoo Wedding

I am a member of Chester Zoo, and am very familiar with layout. I know where to find your favourite animals and nice photographic backdrops. This makes me a very good choice of photographer for Chester Zoo Weddings. Wink Wink!

One of my favourite places to take photographs at the Zoo is actually the area surrounding The Oakfield. The Roman gardens is on one side of the manor, with beautiful meadow flowers in the Summer. On the other side is the colourful Oriental rock gardens. For more relaxed, natural wedding photographs, you could Venture out into the Zoo. The penguins, flamingo’s and Giraffe’s are a good choice to have in your photographs as you are able to get close enough. This makes your photographs more fun and memorable.

This wedding below started with Bridal preparations at the near by Crabwall Manor. And then onto Chester Zoo. Chester Zoo is forever changing and I have more recent weddings here.
